Civil 3D Super slow with larger drawings? Get Hotfix
Have you noticed that your larger Civil 3D files are taking a long time for various operations? When opening, saving, plotting, purging, switching between layouts, and otherwise working in drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D (or in any version of AutoCAD that has the Civil 3D Object Enabler installed), the program hangs and takes several minutes (or even much longer) to finish a command or process before the program responds again for normal input. Autodesk has a Hotfix for it. One of our clients had delays of ten minutes to open drawings. The Hotfix brought the time down to 30 seconds.

AutoCAD 2018 is a NEW .dwg – How to Save as earlier versions
AutoCAD 2018 is a NEW .dwg which means if you are passing along your drawings to others who have older versions of the software you will need to “Save As”. Note that Autodesk allows you to save back to 2013, 2010, 2007, 2004, or 2000.

Phone Support for your Subscriptions
Sometimes only Autodesk can solve a problem. If you have phone support as a benefit of an Autodesk Subscription or if you have Advanced Support as part of your maintenance plan, you can call the support telephone number 844-729-5890. You will be asked for your Express Service ID to actually get through to the Autodesk support.
Directions are here for getting that Express Service ID:
New Network License Manager REQUIRED
Autodesk is providing a new version 11.13.1.2 for 2018 products. If you have not already updated with the 2017 release, it is required to update to 11.13.1.2 for the 2018 product license to work, otherwise you will get a 0.0.0 error. Just like the last couple of years and moving forward, the License Manager files are no longer available for direct download from Flexera. Per their new policy, you must obtain the license manager from your software vendor. You can download the Autodesk Network License Manager files here for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
